Ankle Fusion

Surgical fusion of the ankle joint to treat severe arthritis or deformity.

Anterior Ankle Impingement
    • End-stage ankle arthritis

    • Severe instability or deformity

  • Degenerated cartilage is removed, and bones are fixed with screws or plates to allow fusion. Minimally invasive approaches reduce tissue trauma.

  • Immobilization and restricted weight-bearing are required for several weeks; most patients regain pain-free ambulation within 3–6 months.
