Hammertoe

Hammertoe is a deformity of the small toes where the middle joint becomes permanently bent, often due to muscle imbalance, tight shoes, or genetic factors.

Anterior Ankle Impingement
    • Pain and corns on the top of the toe

    • Difficulty wearing shoes

    • Swelling and redness

  • Physical examination and X-rays help determine the severity and guide treatment.

    • Non-surgical:  Stretching, splints, shoe modifications, and padding.

    • Surgical/minimally invasive:  Joint realignment or fusion may be performed through small incisions to relieve pain and correct the deformity.

  • Most patients return to comfortable shoe wear and daily activities within 4–6 weeks following minimally invasive correction.
