Lisfranc Injuries
Lisfranc injuries involve damage to the midfoot ligaments or bones, often from twisting or high-impact trauma. They can result in chronic pain and arch instability if not properly treated.
-
Midfoot pain and swelling
Difficulty walking or bearing weight
Bruising on the sole of the foot
-
Weight-bearing X-rays, CT, or MRI help identify ligamentous disruption or fractures.
-
Mild injuries may be treated with immobilization and non-weight bearing. Severe or unstable injuries often require surgical fixation using screws or plates, sometimes through minimally invasive techniques.
-
Recovery can take 3–6 months depending on injury severity and surgical intervention.
